Our CSR organisation links the AGC Group to the regions by drawing together and summarising information on CSR, and by coordinating efforts between regions. We concentrate on three areas:

Environment
With a total energy consumption of 56,000,000 GJ annually, we recognise that we have a significant impact on our planet. We aim to minimise this impact on an ongoing basis, through ambitious development and reduction programmes.
But the most important for the planet is to maximise the use of our eco-friendly products. Making 1 square metre of high-efficiency double glazing produces 25 kg of CO2 but it saves 91 kg of CO2 emissions per year. Over the lifetime of the product, it saves 100 times as much CO2 as was used to produce it!
AGC has been particularly proactive in clean energy (solar power) solutions by supplying cover glass for crystalline silicon units and TCO (transparent conducting oxide) for amorphous silicon units. Our new advanced TCO coating is expected to increase solar cell efficiency by around 10% compared to other glass types.
